John Kozak Jr. of East Quogue died at his home on Sunday, October 26. He was 91.
Mr. Kozak was born in Bayside, Queens, on February 9, 1917. He was a technical sergeant in the 63rd Infantry Division of the United States Army during World War II, serving in the European-African-Middle Eastern theater of operations. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service, leadership and courage under enemy fire.
He is survived by two daughters, Dorene Jones and Nancy Pollera; two sons, John Kozak III and Kenneth Kozak; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A wake was held at the Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on October 29. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, October 30, at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the East Quogue Cemetery.
