John P. Antilety
John P. Antilety of Stamford and Southampton died on Monday, March 5, after a brief illness. He was 82.
Born January 26, 1930, in Southampton to Alice and Jacob Antilety, he graduated from Southampton High School and joined the U.S. Navy, where he served four years. He returned to Southampton and joined Antilety Landscaping with his father and brother, William.
He married his wife, Rita M. Zyckowski, in 1957.
Mr. Antilety was an active member of the Southampton Fire Police for 25 years. His many interests were hunting, fishing, ham radio, trap and skeet and golf.
He was a founding member of Long Island Beach Buggy Association, and had LIBBA pass number 20. He retired from landscaping in 1990, and moved to Stamford, where he started a new career in real estate, working at Century 21 and Bob Lawrence Real Estate.
He was a longtime board member of Core Values in Stamford, and chairman of the Greens Committee at the Stamford Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Rita of Stamford; his children, John, and Melissa and her husband Brian.
A funeral service took place on Saturday, March 10, at the Hall-Tari Funeral Home in Stamford, Pastor Waylen Bray officiating.
