John Teresi of Hampton Bays died on December 2 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. He was 74.
Born on January 4, 1940, in Villagrazia, Palermo, he was the son of Gaspare Teresi and Angela Lococo. He was the owner of pizzerias and Italian restaurants in this area over the years before retirement.
Mr. Teresi is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maria (Burriesci); four children, Gaspare Teresi and wife Devera of Hampton Bays, Angela Hand and husband James of Hampton Bays, Josephine Wallace and husband Sabastian of Hampton Bays, and Luciana Nuccio and husband Mimmo of Milan; and 10 grandchildren, Justine, Jacqueline, Maria, Tyler, Giavanna, Sophia, Milana, Giuseppe, Salvatore and Cettina. He is also survived by four brothers-in-law, Luciano Burriesci of Hampton Bays, Frank Burriesci of Virginia, Tony Burriesci of Hampton Bays and Mario Burriesci of Astoria.
A prayer service was held on December 5, Friday evening, at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home, with Father Kevin Thompson of the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays officiating. A funeral Mass was held on December 6 also at the Church of St. Rosalie with Father Edward Sheridan officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays.
