John Edward Weidert
John Edward Weidert of Southampton and Florida died in Lady Lake, Florida, on Sunday, March 4. He was 81.
Born on May 10, 1930, in Hartford, Connecticut, to John Clark Weidert and Marion Squires, Mr. Weidert attended the University of Illinois and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. He went on to become an auditor and lived in Southampton for 36 years.
For the past 15 years, Mr. Weidert divided his time between Southampton and Florida. In Southampton, he was a member of Our Lady of Poland Church in Southampton and, in Florida, he was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake.
Mr. Weidert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Irene McClain Weidert; children, Mark and his wife Dorothy of Maryland, David and Robert of California; and three grandchildren, Katie, Tracy and Colleen Weidert. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Weidert.
Visitation took place on Friday, March 9, at the Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, March 10, at Our Lady of Poland Church in Southampton. Interment followed at St. Andrew’s Church Cemetery in Sag Harbor.
