Joseph Daniel Liehr Sr. died peacefully on August 14. He was 93.

He was born in Southampton Hospital on October 27, 1930, to Elizabeth and George Liehr.

He leaves behind a large family of children and grandchildren, who all live on in his memory.

He will be remembered for his strength, forthrightness, generosity, and his tremendous talents.

His family’s roots date back to the early 1800s as original settlers of Southampton. He was a founding developer in Southampton, and spent most of his life designing and building there. His fingerprints and legacy can be found on many of the buildings and residential communities seen today throughout all of the Hamptons.

Donations in his memory can be sent to Hudson Valley Hospice at hvhospice.org/donate-now/#Donate.
