Joseph W. Sherry
Joseph W. Sherry of Sag Harbor and St. Petersburg, Florida died at his Florida home on Tuesday, August 2. He was 84.
Born January 25, 1927, to Joseph J. Sherry and Viola E. Sherry (nèe Sansoucie) in Southampton, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He later became an electrician, working at the trade for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the American Legion for more than 30 years and of the Stephen Potter Ship Association.
He is survived by his wife, Leatrice (nèe Schiavoni); children, Matthew J. Sherry of Sag Harbor, Thomas J. Sherry of Florida, Ann Louise Sherry of Hampton Bays, John A. Sherry of Huntington Station; and four grandchildren, Caroline, Stephanie, James and Alex.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor.
