Judith Ann Bedell Mahanna, originally of Southampton, died on April 18, 2018, at the Glenn A. Kaiser Hospice House in Salisbury, North Carolina, after a short illness. She was 74.
Born November 29, 1943, in Bristol, Connecticut, to Clifford and Rita Bedell, she was a graduate of Southampton High School. She raised two daughters in East Hampton and moved back to Southampton, retiring there after 20 years as a tax assessor for the Town of Southampton.
She married Melvin Mahanna on March 17, 1993. She enjoyed reading, movies, camping and attending NASCAR races with her husband.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Daniel Bedell of Southampton; her sister, Diann Lee of Massachusetts; two daughters, Sheri Brady of Maryland and Tracy Helbing of Southampton; and three granddaughters, Sarah Sherlock, Amanda Swigert and Olivia Helbing.
