Julia H. Enstine of Southampton died on September 18 at Southampton Hospital. She was 102.
Born on May 21, 1914, in Somerset, New Jersey, she was the last surviving child of the six born to Daniel and Theresa Harrington. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Southampton High School, where she met her future husband Milton C. Enstine, who predeceased her in 1967. After high school she worked at Milton P. Enstine & Son, Inc. as a bookkeeper.
She was the oldest living member of Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. She enjoyed golf, bridge, gardening, caring for her home, and family parties.
She is survived by her children, Milton C. Enstine Jr., Peter J. Enstine and wife Sandra, Ann T. Enstine and Thomas J. Enstine, all of Southampton; grandchildren, Cindy Kreymborg and husband Eric, Peter Enstine Jr., and Delphi Sech and husband Robert; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the O’Connell Funeral Home on Monday, September 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 27, at 10 a.m. at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton. Interment will follow at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton.
Memorial donations may be made to the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary or a charity of the donor’s choice.
