June K. Ciancio of Hampton Bays died at home on Saturday, November 8. She was 88.
Mrs. Ciancio was a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon School of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and worked as a commercial artist. She moved to Hampton Bays in 1953, and during the course of her career had several shows on display at the Hampton Bays Public Library and in New York City.
Mrs. Ciancio is survived by a stepson, Silvio Ciancio Jr. and his wife Marilyn of Wappingers Falls, New York; a sister, Margurite Gressle of East Quogue; two nephews, Reverend Richard Gressle and his wife Amy, and Mark Gressle and his wife Gabrielle; a niece, Kathryn Gressle; a daughter-in-law, Mary, of Hampton Bays; three grandchildren, Jill Haack, and Andrew and James Ciancio; and four great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Anthony and Stephanie Haack, and Joseph Arthur Ciancio.
She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Silvio J. Ciancio; and a stepson, Robert Ciancio.
A wake was held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on November 10. A funeral service, conducted by her nephew, Reverend Richard Gressle, was held at the funeral home on November 11; interment followed at Good Ground Cemetery next to her husband’s grave.
