The leaf blower has to be the most annoying, polluting, useless machine ever. Deafening noise, soil and animal feces blown into the air, a waste of gasoline — all to move some leaves from one place to another?
Carrying a heavy, noisy, gas-guzzling machine on one’s back while moving a hose back and forth can’t be easier than raking. Raking can be very meditative. And the future health and hearing problems for an uninsured group of workers is going to be staggering.
Ban leaf blowers entirely. They are more hazardous than helpful.
