Kathleen P. Knoebel
Kathleen Patricia Knoebel of Southampton died suddenly on May 9. She was 52 years old.
She was born on April 1, 1959 in Southampton to Charles Knoebel and Shari Porter. She graduated from Southampton High School in 1977, and attended Suffolk County Community College and Southampton College. She received a certification in database management and word processing from Prospect Hall College.
For the past 11, years Ms. Knoebel worked in the Department of Information Technology at Southampton Town Hall. She performed detailed technical work, and was an invaluable source of knowledge to her co-workers, officials said. Her colleagues describe her as a true professional, and a genuine friend who will be deeply missed. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors, particularly sailing and gardening. She had a love for nature and animals, and had volunteered at the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons. Previously, she also volunteered for the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance.
She is survived by two daughters, Emily and Elizabeth “EB” Tupper; her father Charles Knoebel and his wife Kasey; her brother Chuck Knoebel and his wife Cheryl; his nephews C.J. and Nicholas Knoebel; his step-father, Alan Webb; and six step-sisters and their families. She was predeceased by her mother Shari.
Prayer services were held at O’Connell Funeral Home on Thursday, May 12.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons, 228 West Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, NY 11946, would be appreciated by the family.
