Keith Gerard LeClerc died at his Southampton home on March 3. He was 58.
Mr. LeClerc was born at Southampton Hospital on September 26, 1957, to Guy and Margaret Moylan LeClerc.
After graduating from Southampton High School in 1975, Mr. LeClerc entered military service with the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Savannah, AOR-4, for four years and was honorably discharged in 1979. While in the Navy he was a member of a band known as the AOR–4 and when he returned home to Southampton he continued to play in several bands. He eventually established his business, Image Window Cleaning.
Mr. LeClerc loved music, was a gifted artist, and enjoyed playing golf and darts. He was a passionate supporter of veterans. Dave Rigney, a fellow shipmate and good friend from the USS Savannah said, “He was an awesome sailor and gunner’s mate and served his country faithfully.”
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four siblings, Andrea and husband Robert McKeefrey of Florida, Maria and husband Robert Johns of Florida, Brian LeClerc of Hampton Bays and Michael and wife Karen of Southampton. He is also survived by nephews, Jason Johns, Ryan McKeefrey, Sean McKeefrey and Joshua LeClerc; and niece and goddaughter, Cara McKeefrey Kul.
A wake will be held on Sunday, March 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. at O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral will take place at the funeral home on Monday, March 14, at 11 a.m., followed by burial with military honors at Calverton National Cemetery.
