Kenneth J. Buergers
Kenneth J. Buergers of Hampton Bays died at his home on Friday, February 1. He was 64.
Mr. Buergers was born in Brooklyn on December 17, 1948, to Herbert and Lillian Buergers. He spent his childhood and teenage years in East Northport. He graduated from St. Anthony’s High School and then attended Southampton College. He was a loyal and devoted employee of Hardy Plumbing and Heating of Southampton for the last 36 years.
Mr. Buergers had the unique ability to instill happiness and joy to all the lives he touched, survivors said. His laughter, good spirits and humor were all so very infectious. He was an avid sports fan rooting for the Yankees and Giants all his life. His fervent love for the beach and local area waters solidified his longtime residency on the East End.
Mr. Buergers is survived by his mother, Lillian, of East Northport; his daughter, Stephanie and her fiancé, Brendan Worrell; his former wife and true friend for 48 years, Lucille Corcoran Buergers of East Quogue; and a niece and nephew, Nicole and Michael Buergers of Texas. He was predeceased by his father, Herbert; and younger brother, Michael.
The family received friends at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on Monday, February 4. A funeral was held on Tuesday, February 5, at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. Interment followed at Good Ground Cemetery.
