Kevin Patrick Fitzgerald of Hampton Bays died on June 14, after a courageous battle with illness. He was 77.
He was born on April 14, 1948, in Rockaway Beach.
In 1970, he married Mary Frank Fitzgerald in Freeport. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in love, creativity, and shared purpose. In 1981, they opened the first location of Fitzgerald Gallery in Sag Harbor, working side by side to grow a business that became a cherished part of the East End arts community. In 1985, they moved the gallery to Westhampton Beach, where it continues to thrive as a testament to their vision and dedication.
They were also the proud parents of their daughter, Brady Jean Fitzgerald, who sadly died at the age of 6 in 1980. He carried her memory in his heart throughout his life, his family said.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend — steadfast, kind-hearted, and quietly generous in spirit. His passion for art, his deep love for his family, and his strength through life’s challenges leave an enduring legacy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Frank Fitzgerald; and his sisters, Mary Fors and Dorothy McGee, who reside in Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy Kiernan Fitzgerald and Arthur E. Fitzgerald; and his brother, Arthur Fitzgerald.
A celebration of his life will be held on June 22, from 5-7 p.m. at the Fitzgerald Gallery in Westhampton Beach. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in honoring his life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Live Your Cor (liveyourcor.com) and East End Hospice (eeh.org) would be appreciated by the family.
