L. Wesley Lowd of Westhampton Beach died on October 9, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Lowd was born in Los Angeles and raised in Oakland, California. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and fought in the South Pacific during World War II. After his service, he attended the University of California at Berkley, graduating with highest honors. After graduation, he headed east to Boston to attend Harvard University, receiving an MBA in management. Upon graduation he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he spent the next 35 years as an aerospace executive. He moved to Westhampton Beach in 1990.

Mr. Lowd is survived by his children, Jeffrey, Christopher (Mija), and Jonathan (Catherine); and two grandchildren, Courtney and Christian. His wife of 63 years, Patricia, died on March 15, 2018.

A Mass on Sunday, October 28, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Quiogue will be dedicated to Mr. Lowd.
