Well Worth ItI received a mailer from the East Quogue Civic Association, which, like usual, is full of misinformation.
The proposed village is not interested in recreating the wheel. They don’t propose a village parks or highway or police department. They are not proposing a big budget that pays people a ton of money. Almost everything in the mailer is incorrect.
East Quogue, don’t listen to the Civic Association, which is really Al Algieri, who has not bothered to educate himself on the proposed budget.
The only con that I can see is that we may have to pay $50 a year extra in taxes to have locally elected leaders who know what is going on in East Quogue and truly know what East Quogue residents want. And that is well worth it to me. Local control by people who have skin in the game always trumps control by people who have their own interests in view.
