Lea Guyer Gordon of Litchfield, Connecticut, formerly of Sagaponack and New York City, died on September 19, 2018.
She was a graduate of the Mary A. Burnham School in Northampton, Massachusetts, and a 1950 graduate of Brown University. Mrs. Gordon was employed at Newsweek magazine, Time magazine and Time Life books as researcher and reporter, and later as a non-fiction editor at Meriwether Press, Macmillan Publishers, Condon and Weed and a senior freelance editor at Reader’s Digest General Books. At retirement 35 years later she became a fine arts appraiser and a member of the Appraisers Association of America. She was a former member of the Garden Club of East Hampton and, with her husband, a former member of Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and the Maidstone Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Blake Gordon, and Cairn terrier Nessie.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Rowe Funeral Home in Litchfield, Connecticut.
