Leo B. Strebel of Eastport died on December 21, 2017, at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care on Quiogue. He was 84.
Born December 7, 1933, in Westhampton, he was the son of Leo and Bertha (Miller) Strebel. He graduated from Center Moriches High School in 1952, and was the owner of Strebel’s Laundry in Westhampton Beach. A member of St. Isidore’s Church in Riverhead, he served there as a eucharistic minister and an usher. He was a life member of the Eastport Fire Department and enjoyed ballroom dancing in his free time.
Predeceased by his wife, Gloria, in 1983; a daughter, Donna Stadnicki; and a granddaughter, Erika Strebel, he is survived by his children, Raymond of Center Moriches and Leo of Eastport; siblings, Loretta Strebel of Westhampton, John Strebel and Robert Strebel, also of Westhampton; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the McLaughlin-Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhad. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
