Leslie Fowler Halsted of Southampton died at home in Southampton on October 3, 2017. She was 55.
Ms. Halsted was born in Southampton and graduated from Southampton High School. After graduating from Elmira College with a Bachelor of Science in business and marketing, she went back to school to earn a degree in respiratory therapy, which was her career path for several years before starting a family. She married John Halsted in 1986 and they lived in numerous locations during their 31 years of marriage, including Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Dusseldorf, Germany.
Leslie was a member of Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio and Quail Valley Country Club in Vero Beach.
Survivors said her passions were her family, friends, her numerous pets, and that she loved international travel, tennis and gardening.
Ms. Halsted was predeceased by her father, Richard L. Fowler; and a brother, Richard T. Fowler, both of Southampton. She is survived by her mother, Prudence Tabor Fowler; her daughters, Drue and Tabor Halsted; and her husband, John S. Halsted Jr. She is also survived by numerous other relatives, including her two nephews, Rick and Andy Fowler; and her sister-in-law, “Midge” Fowler.
A funeral service was held at St. Andrew’s Dune Church in Southampton on Sunday, October 8; interment followed at Southampton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.
