Let Actions Speak

Before this November’s election season, I am sure you will read many letters about candidates focusing on their achievements or plans for when they are elected to serve in public office.

Contrary to how some people often see elected officials as self-promoters, these types of letters are often hard for me to sit down and write. While I do enjoy discussing our Town Trustee accomplishments that I have been privileged to be part of, it is my belief in letting actions speak for themselves. After all, service should be defined by one’s actions and doing the hard work when nobody’s watching or anyone is there to tell you that you are doing a great job.

As seeing is believing, take a minute to talk to your friends and neighbors, as they may have insight into my candidacy that can act as a trustworthy source. I would believe those who know me know I work hard behind the scenes for you and for the town we all love to call home.

Over the past two years, I can say it has been nothing short of an honor and great experience serving the people of Southampton as a Town Trustee. During that time, I have assisted with implementing legislation ranging from the Trustees achieving their own separate tax line to streamlining the decades-long conclusion of the beach driving litigation.

I do my best to be a Town Trustee who is available to the public, as well as an active listener who implements needed reforms and legislative adaptations. Like most positions, experience and hard work combined with the willingness to listen to one’s constituency that makes a recipe for success.

Even with all the good we have achieved together, there is still much work to do for our town. Building on past successes to bring about sustainable solutions is my direct focus.

If elected to continue my public service, I will ensure that the Southampton Town Trustees protect the rights of the freeholders of Southampton. This means our residents will see direct, impactful water quality initiatives, as well as collaboration on several projects that are in the pipeline. This can only continue to be successful through the strong partnerships that the Trustees have established with other incorporated villages, Stony Brook University and Cornell Cooperative Extension. Without our pooling of resources, we would not have the infrastructure to make impactful and much needed change.

That said, if you feel I am the right person for the job and should continue to work for you, please support me through your vote this November. Thank you.
