Let Us Decide

Let Us DecideEveryone wants to keep taxes low. That is exactly why the hamlet of East Quogue must become the village of East Quogue.

Only as a village can we maintain our existing zoning. Only as a village can we be the ones who decide how our Main Street gets developed, and what it looks like.

As a hamlet, these decisions are left to a town board that has town-wide and regional issues to address, and they can only address them in unincorporated hamlets.

Read the local news every day and you will see the Town Board entertaining and approving significant increases in density in unincorporated hamlets. The incorporated villages aren’t doing that. Why? Because the villages, run by residents of the village, know that increases in density and increases in the local school population can significantly increase their taxes.

Our exploratory committee invites you to come to a discussion about the proposed village, this Thursday, October 10, at 7 p.m. at the East Quogue school. We have invited some experts on municipal operations and finance to answer your questions. We hope that you will come to the same conclusion that our committee has from the research we have conducted over the course of the last year and a half.

And that is to Keep Taxes Low and to Protect East Quogue, we hope you will vote yes for the Village of East Quogue.
