Lewis A. Blydenburgh Jr.
Lewis A. Blydenburgh Jr. of Southampton died at Southampton Hospital on Friday, September 2, after suffering many years from bipolar disease. He was 59.
Born February 9, 1952, in Southampton to Lewis Sr. an Mildred Blydenburgh, he started work as an auto mechanic with Ernie Wilson when he was a teenager. Known to many by his nickname, Lovon, he loved his red 1966 Chevelle. He worked for 17 years at the Hampton Jitney and while working full-time, he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Mr. Blydenburgh loved his many dogs and cats. He and his wife Lynn loved to garden together, walk on the beach and swim at the lake. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, family said.
In addition to his wife Lynn, he is survived by his children, Candice Nelson and Lewis E. Blydenburgh, both of Southampton; grandsons, Scott and Michael Nelson; siblings, Neil Blydenburgh of Florida and Betty Swanson of Southampton; and many other loving family members.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.
