Lillian Rhoads died on July 30 at the Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Southampton. She was 93.
Born of German immigrants, Frederick and Katherine Schofer, she grew up in Brooklyn, where she met and married James J. Rhoads, who predeceased her, and raised her family. Always active in her church and community, she was a lifelong member of the St. Alphonsus Rosary Society, the Greenpoint Columbiettes (Knights of Columbus), Greenpoint Lioness Club and many civic associations.
Ms. Rhoads is survived by a brother, Richard; four children, Phillip, Chris, Fred and Eileen; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.
