Local Lawsuits Over PFAS Contamination Continue After Billion-Dollar 'Bellwether' Settlement

Suffolk County Water Authority CEO Jeffrey Szabo and East Hampton Town Supervisor celebrated the completion of the installation of SCWA water mains in southern Wainscott after PFAS contamination was found in hundreds of drinking water wells there. Lawsuits over the contamination are continuing, even as the companies that manufactured the chemicals for decades have started settling some of the hundreds of cases against them nationwide.
