State Parks To Offer Nature Hikes

The State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation has released its list of night owl hikes and seal observation hikes. For the owl hikes, a state park naturalist will guide visitors in the woods to listen for owls and other night life. The location of each hike may vary. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and comfortable shoes for hiking. Be prepared to hike without lights. The hike averages 2.15 miles (longer or shorter depending on the location) and is for those ages 12 and older. No dogs are allowed. The annual Patron Art Show opens November 25 at John Jermain Library and runs through January 15, featuring a diverse array of work from the local creative community.
