Louis Clarke Of Westhampton Dies November 26

Louis Clarke of Westhampton Beach died at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care on November 26, 2019. He was 83.

Mr. Clarke, who went by “Louie,” served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961 as a captain’s orderly on the USS Saratoga. After graduating from New York University, he was employed by Chase Bank and eventually joined the investment firm of JB Boucher where he was employed for 25 years.

He was an avid tennis player and golfer, loved Dixieland and was happiest following the securities market and spending quality time with family and his beloved dog, Coco. He was a former president of the Westhampton Country Club and a longtime member of the Quogue Field Club. He was a longtime resident of Westhampton and Quogue. Aside from his military service, survivors said he never wanted to be anywhere but home.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kathleen (Dwyer) Clarke; a son, Louis B. Clarke and wife Irene; daughters, Sarah of New York City and Quogue, Virginia Pope and husband Charles of New York City and Quogue; grandchildren, John and Katherine Pope; five stepchildren; and nine step-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Connie (Clarke) Ringstad of Islip. He was predeceased by his mother, Christina; and stepfather, John Boucher.

A funeral Mass was held on December 3, 2019, with interment at Quogue Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to East End Hospice Kanas Center, or a charity of choice.
