Louis Edward Turpin Jr.
Louis Edward Turpin Jr. of Westhampton Beach died on October 17 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 56.
Mr. Turpin worked for George’s Sanitation in Quogue for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Laverne Mitchell of Westhampton Beach; his father, Louis Edward Turpin Sr. of Quogue; his mother, Mary Ellen Liggon and her husband Robert, also of Quogue; four sons, Lewis Turpin of Connecticut, Louis Turpin, Anthony Mitchell and Tuwan Mitchell, both of Westhampton Beach; and four daughters, Krystal Turpin of Westhampton Beach, Sheryl Cruz and Aiesha Turpin, both of Connecticut, and Latoya Mitchell, also of Westhampton Beach.
He is also survived by five brothers, Richard Turpin of Mastic, John Turpin of Riverhead, Larry Liggon of Virginia, Benjamin Durham of Bellport and Joseph Durham of Ronkonkoma; five sisters, Shirley Crews of Riverhead, Donna Weeks-Bell of New Jersey, Debra Gholson of Center Moriches, Maria Liggon of Huntington and Kim Green of South Carolina; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services on Thursday, October 21, at 11 a.m. at the Galilee Church of God and Christ in Riverhead. Interment follows at Westhampton Cemetery.
