In remembrance of Maurice’s father, Edward “Ebby” Corrigan Sr. [“Missed Beyond Words,” Letters, May 9; “Edward Corrigan Put His Family And Community Before Himself For 89 Years,” Obituary, 27east.com, April 29], several things should be thought of.
As we all know, Ebby was kind and thoughtful toward everyone, and his daughter, Hope, elaborated so well on his many attributes in her Letter to the Editor.
His work ethic was amazing, whether it was operating a machine or picking up a shovel or rake, and his ethic was passed on to Maurice through their deep connection.
Maurice and his father were constantly together during the day, whether at work or at the fire department. When you saw Maurice, you saw his father with him. Even when Ebby could no longer get into the trucks, Maurice took the time to take him out of the car to give him a change of scenery. The only person who spent more time with Ebby was his loving wife, Pat.
God bless Ebby. We know he is watching down on us today. And God bless Maurice for being such a caring, loving and devoted son.
