Lucky To Have Him

These are trying times in so many ways for so many people; COVID-19 has changed the world and the lives of every single person on it.

My husband, many of our friends and I are self-employed and are struggling to find a way to keep our businesses afloat. As our business insurance will not cover us for a business interruption for a global pandemic, many of us have applied for Government CARES Act, COVID-19 funding, and unemployment, yet have not received a penny.

Today is May 22; our businesses were forced to close doors by executive order on March 22. How are we going to stay afloat? How are we going to find the resources to purchase new inventory, pay rent/mortgages, health insurance, salaries, bills, and also provide for our families? Our government has promised to help us, but it’s taking too long.

State Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo’s office has been extremely helpful in getting results with unemployment callbacks for people who have been having a difficult time receiving their benefits. Mr. Palumbo and his staff understand what it takes to run a small business; they have been very supportive and helpful in finding answers to the problems we are facing.

I started following Mr. Palumbo on Facebook to learn more about him. He’s a very smart man with great ideas to help small businesses. He is looking out for Long Island business owners and their staff.

I watched a video on his Facebook page that was very interesting. I urge you to watch Mr. Palumbo’s press conference, “Official’s Call for Terrorist Declaration,” on his Facebook page. He has ideas on how to help small businesses fast.

Our community is very fortunate to have Mr. Palumbo represent them as their assemblyman.
