Lynne A. Johnston Dies March 16

Lynne A. Johnston died on March 16, 2022. She was 68. She was a resident of Hampton Bays and East Quogue and was predeceased by her parents, James R. Johnston and Rose A. Johnston, as well as her lifetime partner of 46 years, Frank “Butch” Rogers III. Born November 25, 1953, in Manhattan, she graduated from Hampton Bays High School. She worked at several liquor stores in Hampton Bays and Riverhead. Survivors said she loved spending time with her many dogs over the years.

She is survived by a sister, Barbara J. Johnston-Guerra; nephews and nieces, Ricky, Danny and wife Fallon, Kyle, Stephen, Maegan and husband Jeffery; great-nieces and great-nephews, Sierra, Amaya, Mia, Ruby, Daniel and Jaxon.

A memorial service will be held at 223 Railroad Avenue in Center Moriches on Saturday, June 4, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to any animal foundation or Disabled American Veterans.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of May 8

Gintaras Satas, 58, of Mastic was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. on May 2 and charged with misdemeanor DWI and several vehicle and traffic violations after the vehicle he was driving nearly struck a Southampton Town Police car that was on the side of Montauk Highway in Water Mill with its lights on conducting a traffic stop of another vehicle. When approached by the officer, Satas was found to be unsteady on his feet and a breath alcohol test indicated he had been drinking more than the legal limit, according to police. by Staff Writer

Renny Lopez-Bermeo, 27, of East Hampton was arrested by Southampton Town Police at about 7 p.m. on April 27 and charged with felony DWI after he was pulled over for driving erratically on Lynncliff Road near Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays.
