An unidentified man died on Tuesday morning while plowing snow from the Stony Brook Southampton campus, officials said.
At approximately 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, University Police responded to a medical emergency on campus where they found a man unresponsive in his truck. He was working as a vendor for the campus.
Police performed CPR on the man while waiting for help. The Southampton Town Police responded to the scene and the man was transported to Southampton Hospital by Southampton Volunteer Ambulance where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement from Lauren Sheprow, university media relations officer.
Southampton Town Police were not available for comment on Wednesday.
“The university was very saddened to learn that the contracted employee was unable to be revived at the hospital,” Ms. Sheprow said in her statement.
