Margaret M. Durand
Margaret M. Durand, known as “Peggy,” of Hampton Bays, died on January 19 at Southampton Hospital. She was 71.
A devoted homemaker and dedicated member of her church, she was the wife of Robert Durand, who predeceased her.
Ms. Durand is survived by her sons, Kevin Durand and his wife Sue of Florida, Bob “Shorty” and William Durand, both of Hampton Bays and Steven Durand and his fiancée Carol of East Quogue; 12 grandchildren, Mark Durand, Carl Durand, Michelle Durand, Ellen Robinson, Tina Robinson, Robert Durand, Robin Durand, Sherri Trumbley, Ashley Durand, Casey Durand, Courtney Durand, and Eleanor Guyer; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Patrick and a daughter-in-law, Evelyn.
Cremation was held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Center Moriches on Friday, January 21. A gathering of family and friends was held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on Monday, January 24. A funeral Mass was celebrated at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays on Tuesday morning. Spreading of her ashes will take place at a later date.
Donations in her memory made to the Church of St. Rosalie, 31 East Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, NY 11946 would be appreciated by the family.
