Margaret Elizabeth Birks Of Westhampton Beach Dies February 26

Margaret Elizabeth Birks died at her home in Westhampton Beach on February 26, 2018. She was 90.

Born August 11, 1927, she was predeceased by her husband, Naval Officer Chief William Rogers Birks, who survived the infamous Bataan Death March and Japanese POW camp; and a son, Suffolk County Police Lieutenant William Birks. She is survived by her daughter Patricia “Patti” Birks, who is endorsed by The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in England as being a descendant of John Harvard who established Harvard University; three grandchildren, William, Desmin and Briana Birks; and two great-grandchildren, Laraine and Will Birks.

Burial was at Westhampton Cemetery.
