Margaret Halsey Bennett died on August 20 at her daughter’s home in Goodyear, Arizona, after a long illness. She was 93.
Born on November 22, 1920, in Southampton, she had lived in Sun City and Menifee, California, for the past 25 years.
She was a church organist at the East Quogue Methodist Church for many years before moving to Southern California in 1967. She then played the organ at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Capistrano Beach. She retired at the age of 55, when her husband, Richard L. Bennett, and she decided to travel the United States and Canada in their recreational vehicle.
Ms. Bennett was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Bennett. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Susan Bennett of Arizona; a son, Richard Bennett of Indiana; a brother, Harold Beecher Halsey of Westhampton Beach; a sister, Ruth Harris of Riverhead; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A private service is planned. Interment will be at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear.
