Margaret Liehr of Southampton died on January 16. She was 81.
A lifelong resident of Southampton, she was born on May 29, 1934, the daughter of Richard and Anna Wagner. She was just 6 years old when her father died.
After 20 years working as a secretary at Barry Feldman Attorney at Law, she retired. Survivors said she was a great cook and baker, an avid beachgoer and loved swimming in her daughter’s pool. She had a great love for animals. A very stylish woman, she presented herself with class and elegance.
Predeceased by her parents and her stepfather, Kenneth Winchell, she is survived by two daughters, Denise McNamara and Deborah Liehr, both of Southampton; grandchildren, Kevin McNamara and Kyle McNamara, both of Southampton; siblings, Henry Wagner and wife Claire and Bruce Winchell and wife Rosemary, all of Sag Harbor; and four nieces and one nephew.
Visitation is at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor on Wednesday, January 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Sag Harbor. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor.
