Margaret W. Thiele
Margaret W. Thiele of Southampton died on Friday, September 28, at San Simeon by the Sound Nursing Home in Greenport. She was 81.
Born in Southampton to Charles and Ernestine Wilson on March 21, 1931, she later graduated from Southampton High School. She was an active member of the Southampton United Methodist Church and was always willing to help out where needed, survivors said. She enjoyed gardening, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting and made and donated several blankets to soldiers and to the nursing homes.
Predeceased by her husband William Thiele of Sag Harbor, she is survived by her children, Dawn Morris of Southampton, Robin and Bruce Thiele of Hampton Bays; two grandsons, Eugene W. Morris of Southampton, and Dylan Ford of Riverhead; a brother Arthur Wilson and his wife Janet of Southampton; and a sister-in-law, Adel Wilson, also of Southampton. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ernie and Neil Wilson; and a sister, Madeline Doran.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 1, at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral service was held at United Methodist Church with Pastor Leslie Duroseau officiating on Tuesday, October 2. Interment was at Southampton Cemetery.
