Marie Bellini of Hampton Bays Dies June 14

Marie Bellini died peacefully of natural causes surrounded by her loving family at her home in Hampton Bays on June 14. She was 98.

She was born in Brooklyn, and grew up in East Patchogue. She was the daughter of Philip and Angelina DiPaola.

She was a passionate bridge player, an avid golfer in her earlier days, and the matriarch of a large and close-knit family. She was widely known for her political views and remained a resolute Roosevelt Democrat until her death.

She was predeceased by her husbands, John A. Young and John Bellini; as well as her three stepchildren, Patricia Bellini, Martin Bellini and Christine Bellini.

She is survived by her five children, Darby Woodbury, Robin Young Roe, Kerry Young, Randy Giaramita and John Young; five stepchildren, Sister Jean Bellini, Nancy Bellini, Mark Kay Lewis and John and Gerard Bellini; 24 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on June 26 at The Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Democratic National Committee would be appreciated by the family.

The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) is calling on the creativity of local young artists with the launch of its 2025 Holiday Card Contest. Open to all students in grades 6 through 12, the contest invites participants to design ARF’s official holiday card, spreading cheer while celebrating the animals waiting for adoption at the ARF Adoption Center.
