Marie K. Povall of East Quogue died at the Westhampton Care Center on Friday, March 21. She was 93.?A resident of East Quogue since 1977, Ms. Povall, a homemaker, was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America St. Rosalie's Court, and Women of the Moose. ?She is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Povall of East Quogue; a son, George Povall and his wife Christine; two grandchildren, George Povall and his wife Barbara, and Laura Campagne and her husband Tom; two great-grandchildren, Jason Povall and Olivia Marjorie Campagne; and many nieces and nephews. ?She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, George Povall.?A parish prayer service was held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on March 24. A funeral mass was held at St. Rosalie's Church in Hampton Bays on March 25, and interment followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Southampton.

Nod to the Past

In deciding to run for reelection as village trustee, I have thought a great deal about what I, as a trustee, have done and can continue to do to preserve and nurture the qualities that make Southampton Village such a special place to live. Refuse Surprises

The Noyac Civic Council once again is proud to have many volunteers join in the Great East End Clean-Up. This year, we had a few different surprises as we picked up the usual trash along Noyac Road. New Jersey Man Arrested After Woman Claims He Set Up a Spy Camera in Bathroom

A New Jersey man was arrested by Southampton Town Police over the weekend and charged with unlawful surveillance after a woman told police she suspected that he had used a remote camera to watch her in the bathroom. The woman, who police have not identified other than to say she is from Indiana, called police on May 3 and reported that she was staying at an Airbnb house in Water Mill for the weekend with several co-workers.
