Marion Iona Woessner, Formerly Of Southampton Village, Dies August 3

Marion Iona Woessner, 91, formerly of the Village of Southampton, died at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care on Quiogue on August 3, 2019, with her children by her side. She was 91.

Born in June 1928, she was the first of three daughters born to Mary Ann (MacKay) and Clinton Elmer Jones in Rapid City, Manitoba. She met William “Bill” Woessner and they married in Foley, Alabama in 1957; they divorced in 1990. Her children, Lisa and Billy, were born in Westchester County in 1961 and 1963, respectively. In 1968, she moved to Southampton where she remained until 2009, at which time she moved to Peconic Landing in Greenport.

Ms. Woessner was predeceased by her sisters, Joyce Street and Dona Dodds. She is survived by her two children, Lisa Shields of California and Billy Woessner of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Joey and Nick Shields, and Corbin Woessner; and five nephews, Bruce, Chris and Marty Dodds of British Columbia, and Stuart and Laron Street of Texas.

Memorial donations may be made to East End Hospice.
