Marion Kathryn Rupprecht Of East Quogue Dies January 27

Marion Kathryn (Bethmann) Rupprecht of East Quogue died on January 27 at the Westhampton Care Center. She was 92.

Born in Brooklyn on July 15, 1923, Ms. Rupprecht grew up in the Ridgewood area of Queens and graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1940. She married William Rupprecht on July 14, 1946.

Prior to moving to East Quogue in 1984, she and her family lived in Levittown, Syosett and Mattituck. She lived at her East Quogue home with the help of caregivers until Christmas 2015.

Ms. Rupprecht worked as a bookkeeper and a receptionist at various small firms in the area, including Mendenhall Fuel where she remained well into her 80s. Survivors said her favorite pastimes were counted cross-stitch needlework, which was often given as gifts when finished, and having lunch with friends.

Predeceased by her husband and a brother, she is survived by a daughter, Eileen M. Schwinn and husband Hans D. Schwinn; grandchildren Erich and wife Robyn, and Andreas and wife Jessica; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Morgan, Kate and Bryn. She is also survived by nieces Diane Bethmann, Joyce Bethmann, Margaret Rupprecht; and nephew, Carl Bethmann.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the R. J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays, with a prayer service by the Reverend Chuck Cary of Westhampton Presbyterian Church, where Ms. Rupprecht was a member. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.
