Mark A. Gatz Of Hampton Bays Dies July 31

Mark A Gatz of Hampton Bays, formerly of Riverhead, died at his home on July 31. He was 51.

Mr. Gatz had a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music and was an adjunct professor at Suffolk County Community College. He was a musician and music teacher for the East End Arts Council of Riverhead for many years. He was the owner of Gatz Music and Instrument Repair shop in Hampton Bays, where he also gave private music lessons.

Mr. Gatz is survived by his fiancée, Gail Katz of Hampton Bays; a brother, Bruce F. Gatz of Southampton; and a sister, Michelle Danowski and husband David of Florida.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church in Riverhead on August 8; burial followed at the church cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home of Hampton Bays.

Nod to the Past

In deciding to run for reelection as village trustee, I have thought a great deal about what I, as a trustee, have done and can continue to do to preserve and nurture the qualities that make Southampton Village such a special place to live. Refuse Surprises

The Noyac Civic Council once again is proud to have many volunteers join in the Great East End Clean-Up. This year, we had a few different surprises as we picked up the usual trash along Noyac Road. New Jersey Man Arrested After Woman Claims He Set Up a Spy Camera in Bathroom

A New Jersey man was arrested by Southampton Town Police over the weekend and charged with unlawful surveillance after a woman told police she suspected that he had used a remote camera to watch her in the bathroom.
