Hurricane Irene could not blow out the romantic candlelit setting as Mark R. Kot, M.D. and Kelli Marie Delaney were married on Monday, August 29, at Casa Cuba in Southampton, a private home owned by the couple’s close friend Rita Schrager.
The bride wore an embroidered lace Badgley Mischka gown and the groom sported a navy pinstripe Ralph Lauren linen suit. Executive Chef Andrew Buffalino prepared a five-star wedding feast by candlelight. The intimate group of 16 decided not to postpone the nuptials and to brave the windy weekend, power outages and fallen trees to come together for the festivities.
“Having the entire ceremony, dinner, and celebration by candlelight only made the evening more romantic,” the bride said. “I don’t know how Chef Buffalino pulled it off ... but the formal dinner he prepared has kept my guests talking for days.”
Both Dr. Kot and Kelli Delaney are Water Mill residents. The bridegroom is a graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and started his private practice, Southampton Urgent Medical Care, P.C., in 2003. The bride is a graduate of Lehigh University and is a Conde Nast magazine veteran. In July she launched the website, KDHamptons.com, a luxury lifestyle diary of the Hamptons, for which she serves as editor-in-chief.
