Martha Raynor of Eastport died at the Kanas East End Hospice Care Center, on Quiogue, on December 31, 2017. She was 77.

Ms. Raynor was born at the Flower of 5th Avenue Hospital in New York City on July 18, 1940, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Seitz. The family moved to Eastport when she was a toddler and she graduated from Eastport High School in 1958. She met Milton Raynor while in school and, after he finished his enlistment in the Navy, they were married at the Beach Methodist Church, Westhampton Beach in 1962.

She was employed at several jobs during her married life, as a secretary and bookkeeper. She found what she considered her dream job when she started driving handicapped children to school for the Adelwerth Bus Company; survivors said she loved each and every one of them. Over the course of her 25 years as a driver, each child received a holiday or birthday gift.

She raised twin boys and managed a home in splendid fashion, survivors said. In her spare time she was an award-winning quilter and longtime member of the Eastern Long Island Quilters Guild.

Ms. Raynor is survived by her husband of 55 years, Milton; and two sons, George Alexander and Eric; and a grandson, Nicholas; and her “adopted sisters” of East Pond Lane. She was predeceased by her parents and her aunt, Martha.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach. Interment will be Saturday, January 6, at 10 a.m. at Eastport Cemetery.
