Mary Ellen (née Fee) Ramundo of Sag Harbor and Naples, Florida, died May 13 at the Westhampton Care Center after a short illness. She was 69.
Born September 20, 1938, in Nyack, New York, to George D. and Mildred Colligan Fee, both of whom predeceased her, she was raised in Nanuet and graduated from Nyack High School. She attended the State University of New York at New Paltz, and after graduation she was employed for a short time at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City.
A part owner of Parkway Mobile Homes, a mobile home park in Mt. Ivy, Mrs. Ramundo lived for more than 32 years in the village of Haverstraw following her marriage to Peter V. Ramundo, a former Rockland County legislator.
As a homemaker, she devoted herself to her family. Upon her husband’s retirement in 1994, the couple spent their summers in Sag Harbor and winters in Naples. Mrs. Ramundo enjoyed playing bridge and tending to her gardens at both her homes.
In addition to her husband of nearly 46 years, Peter Ramundo, she is survived by two daughters, Jill Ramundo of Sag Harbor and Tracy Brosnan and her husband Andrew of Valley Cottage, New York; a son, Peter V. Ramundo Jr. and his wife Amy of Upper Nyack; and three brothers, George D. Fee Jr. of Valley Cottage, Frederick Fee of Oregon and Raymond Fee of California.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Nicole and Jack Brosnan of Valley Cottage and Gabriel, Peter, Hannah and Michael Ramundo of Upper Nyack.
The family received visitors on May 16 at T.J. McGowan Funeral Home in Garnerville with funeral services the following day at St. Peter’s Church in Haverstraw. The family also received visitors on May 18 at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. Funeral services followed on May 19 at St. Andrew’s Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Andrew’s Church, 122 Division Street, Sag Harbor, NY 11963 would be appreciated by the family.
