Mary L. Westuba Of Montauk Dies May 30

Mary L. Westuba of Montauk and Florida died in Florida on May 30. She was 84.

Born in Brooklyn on November 10, 1930, she was the daughter of Henry and Charlotte Uihlein.

She and her husband, George, lived in Saudi Arabia for 25 years, making many close friends, before retiring in Melbourne Beach, Florida. The couple traveled the world but loved Montauk best, survivors said, and they spent time each summer at her parents’ motel, Uihleins. Survivors said she was known for her great sense of humor and her kindness.

Ms. Westuba was predeceased by her husband; a son, Daniel; and sisters, Jean Ehm and Carol Maher. She is survived by a son, William; grandchildren, Daniel, Jackie and Rubi; and daughter-in-law, Kristin; a brother, Henry Uihlein Jr.; and a sister, Charlotte Granau.

A funeral was held on June 4 at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. Burial was at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in East Hampton.
