Mary Louise Eggert of East Quogue died on March 30, 2019. She was 73. Ms. Eggert was the business manager and district treasurer for Oysterponds Union Free School District. She was an active member of the community as a member of the Lioness Club of the Hamptons. She loved to sing and spent many years as a member of the Sweet Adelines, a renowned women’s singing troupe.

Predeceased by her husband Herbert Eggert, she is survived by her sons, Herbert Jr. and wife Jacquelyn, and Josef and wife Stephanie; and her grandchildren, Mitchell and Sydney.

Visitation was at O’Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home in Southampton on Wednesday. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, April 4, at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Southampton Cemetery.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
