Mary F. Morris
Mary Morris, a longtime Hampton Bays resident, died on Sunday, March 10. She was 96.
Born Mary Catherine (Kate) Ferris on January 12, 1917, in New York City, to Michael and Catherine Feerick (Ferris), she was married to Alexander R. Morris, who predeceased her. For many years, they lived and raised their family in Bayside, moving to Hampton Bays in the 1960s. She was an active member of the Hampton Bays Senior Center.
Ms. Morris is survived by five children, Andrew of Hampton Bays, Michael of Ossining, Glenn of Mississippi, Alexander of Brazil, and Maureen Sullivan of Hampton Bays; nine grandchildren, Brian Sullivan of Vermont, Meaghan Curry of Maryland, Michael Sullivan of Maryland, Daniel Morris of Massachusetts, Margeaux Morris of New York City, Mariel Morris of Ossining, and Charlotte, Alexander and Andrew Morris of Hampton Bays; and seven great-grandchildren, Nora Curry, Alex and Brian Sullivan, Braden and Madison Sullivan, and Cole and Emery Morris.
Ms. Morris was predeceased by two children, Robert and Donald; a brother, Michael (Buddy) Ferris of New Jersey; and a sister, Nora Sharkey of Jackson Heights.
A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, March 16, at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. She will be interred with her husband at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Flushing.
