Mary T. Knappe
Mary T. Knappe of Hampton Bays, formerly of Bay Shore, died on September 23 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 92.
Ms. Knappe worked as a bookkeeper for several years, most recently at the Huntington Crescent Club.
She is survived by six daughters, Carole Savitsky, and her husband Jeffrey, of Indiana; Diane L. Knappe of Hampton Bays; Janet Kehoe of Bay Shore; Robin Knappe, and her husband Thomas Ferguson, of North Carolina; Elizabeth Matusz, and her husband Michael, of Arizona; and Christine Stankard, and her husband James, of Massapequa. Ms. Knappe is also survived by two sisters, Helen Yonick of Nevada and Dorothy Davoli of Florida; nine grandchildren, Kenneth, Douglas, Robert, Michael, Christopher, Brian, James, Brendon and Elizabeth; two great-grandchildren, Greta and Foster; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Knappe; son-in-law, John Kehoe; and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Yonick and Sam Davoli.
The family received visitors on September 26 at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. Funeral services were held on September 27 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Bay Shore, followed by interment at St. John of God Cemetery in Central Islip.
