Mary Twomey Greason Of Manhattan And Quogue Dies January 9

Mary Twomey Greason of Manhattan and Quogue, died on January 9, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief and sudden illness. She was 82.

Ms. Greason was born January 15, 1932, in the Bronx to Timothy and Anna (King) Twomey. Among her many accomplishments, she was most proud of graduating from Marymount Manhattan College, where she later served as a trustee for 19 years and received the college’s President’s Medal of Honor. Survivors said she was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who met her.

Ms. Greason is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, Edward W. Greason; three sons, Edward and wife Marisa, William and wife Margaret, and Michael; a granddaughter, Elizabeth; and a brother-in-law Robert, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting was held at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel in Manhattan on January 12. A funeral Mass was held on January 13 at Our Lady of Peace Church, also in Manhattan.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mary T. Greason Scholarship Fund at Marymount Manhattan College, mmm.edu, or to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, mskcc.org.

Fundraiser Set for Hampton Bays St. Patrick's Parade

The Hampton Bays Hibernians will kick off preparations for their 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade with a fundraiser dinner on Friday, November 15 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Oakland’s Restaurant in Hampton Bays. The Southampton 4th of July Parade Committee will host a benefit dinner on Monday, October 20, at the Elks Lodge in Southampton to support the 2026 parade — a special celebration marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. Guests can choose between two dinner seatings, from 5 to 6:15 p.m. or 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended to guarantee seating, and takeout will be available.
