Mary V. McMahon of Southampton died at the St. James Rehabilitation Center on September 2, 2019. She was 88.
An avid bridge player and a member of the Southampton Golf Club, she was predeceased by her husband, William F. McMahon. She survived by her children, Drew (Elizabeth) and Kathleen; a sister, Betty Ann (Joseph); a brother, Brady; brother-in-law Jack Sowarby; grandchildren, Michael and Alexandra; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Regina (John) Horvat; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Patrick and Mary Jane McMahon, Catherine and Thomas Adams, Irene and Phillip Duignan, Walter and Marie McMahon, and Margaret Sowarby.
Visitation will be held at the O’Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home in Southampton on Friday, September 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, followed by interment at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
